How tall is mount boucherie

In the late s, he purchased land near the mountain and because of this, it was later given his name. You can identify them by their distinctive yellow, tan, and pink colours.

The mountain became a lava dome which has eroded ever since. When the volcanic activity ended, a large river flowed through the area and partially buried the volcano with rock and sediment.

Over the last 40 to 50 million years Mt Boucherie was subjected to glacial activity that further eroded the lava dome. PS: This article contains affiliate links. Nice hike with decent views though a little noisy urban noises. The climb was quite manageable with good footing the whole way as it is extensively switch-backs all the way to the top. Great exposure to the unique local geology. Overall it was quite enjoyable Small parking area. Most people park on road. No water or bathroom. Good family hike. Big pathways but some loose gravel. If you walk normal pace approx 2 hours. It was a moderate climb. Loose rocks on the way up but not really slippery or dangerous.

I went early in the morning and the dedicated parking on have 6 spots and the rest park either on roadside. It was busy by the time I was coming down. I started at 8am. Nice trail, very manageable. No shade, no bugs. Great views of the West Kelowna area. Highly recommend! Great trail and amazing views along the way!

Challenging steep climb but a great hike for all ages. Intense up. Pretty much rock climbing very steep and challenging scramble. Coyote sighting.

Super fun adventure. Well marked and easy to follow the trail up the switchbacks, though there are also "shortcuts" people have taken up to shorten the distance. Parking lot has an outhouse and 4 marked parking spots. Lots of switchbacks, solid uphill but not too steep. Pack a lunch for nice views at the top. The switchbacks going up were really not that nice nor enjoyable.

I would have to agree with other reviews that it is more of a desert terrain hike. It is a fairly short ascend for a quick workout. One of my favs to do for an evening hike, especially this time of year when the balsamroot and saskatoons are in bloom.

A bit busy so start early! Love the switchbacks. Nice views on top. Can wear just your runners. Really worth pushing for that second viewpoint noted on the map - it only added about mins roundtrip. The trail to the second viewpoint is slightly more difficult terrain in a few spots. Really windy and much colder at the top - it hailed on us. So be prepared for that. Signs warning of rattlesnakes here, but we didn't encounter any. Hike was fantastic. Decided to go down the backside.

Love this switchback trail. Great views. Unfortunately helicopter and road noise at the top. Did this several times in the winter and more recently in the spring. A good challenge, well maintained trail, always beautiful! Great day with moderate foot traffic. Sunny and warm and everyone was friendly.

Great trail, switchbacks certainly helped to make this feel like a longer hike. Windy conditions but manageable. Great panoramic views of the south side of Okanagan Lake at the top!
